Retail workers' health on holidays


The most wonderful time of the year has come. According to the NRF (National Retail Federation), this holiday season it is estimated that retailers will hire about 650,000 seasonal workers, joining 4.6 million U.S. retail workers.

Retail workers will encounter a massive amount of seasonal shopping traffic, which can lead the retail workers' physical and psychological health issues. Even though there is no one golden solution, NIOSH recommends "managers and employees work together to identify critical stress-related problems and design reasonable solutions to address them [NIOSH 1999]."
